How This Entrepreneur Changed From A Procrastinator To An Action-Taker

This is my story of how I transformed my identity from a chronic procrastinator into a consistent action-taker and how you can too. If you regularly put off taking action in your business, this is for you!

When my coach praised me for being an action-taker recently it felt weird and a bit uncomfortable.

You see, until the fall of 2020 I had embraced the identity of a procrastinator.

It wasn’t serving me in any way. In fact, that identity was keeping me stuck and preventing me from helping the people God had called me to serve at the level I knew I could—if I would just stop procrastinating.

So in the Fall of 2021, I decided I was done being a procrastinator and I began to shift my identity to that of an action-taker.

In the process I learned a lot about why I dilly-dallied. Those insights empowered me to develop a process for setting myself free from the thinking patterns that created that unhelpful identity.

As I practiced the process, I began taking action with “effortless effort.” (That’s a phrase my Pilates instructor uses that means to exert effective effort without resistance. I love that concept!)

I began to be able to put things on my schedule and actually do them at the time I planned to work on them.

And a few months after making the decision to become an action-taker, one of my clients invited me to be a guest on her podcast to talk about how to stop procrastinating. Check out the podcast here.

If you’ve already taken my mini-course, Finally Stop Procrastinating, the content in the podcast will be familiar, but you’ll pick up some new tips and hear me explain the process in a little different way.

Laura Schoenfeld hired me to be the mindset support coach in her Nutrition Business Accelerator – Next Level program. (If you’re wanting to start or uplevel your nutrition or health coaching business and are looking for a business coach to help you navigate the tactics and strategies for doing so, I highly recommend you check out Laura’s program here!)

By shifting my identity and weeding out old thought and behavior patterns I’ve been able to change how I show up in my business and life. Now, others are noticing this shift and this has created opportunities to impact and serve more people.

What Identities and Habits Would You Benefit From Deciding To Change?

What patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving are getting in the way of you realizing your full potential to serve those God has called you to serve? (No judgment, just curious and coming from a place of deep compassion.)
